Working With The Neighbors Place

Client Case-Study

In 1989, The Neighbors' Place was established as a non-profit organization after nearly a decade of effort by members of several area churches that came together to address some of the needs they saw in our community. They began as a local grass roots organization designed to help individuals and families in our community become more self-sufficient. Their historical outreach has included individuals re-entering society from correctional and rehabilitative programs to those from other cultures and nations attempting to adapt to life in America, to senior citizens on fixed incomes, to working families trying to make ends meet, and many others. In 1992, they moved into their existing building on Scott St. and opened their food pantry in 1997.

A lot has changed since 1989, especially during the past year and a half! In the past year, over 800 new households reached out to them for help. They began a delivery service to ensure that households under quarantine had access to food as well as many homebound seniors living in rural areas of our county that lacked transportation to reach us. Despite the pandemic, they proudly launched a new program, their Diaper Bank, appropriately called The Babies’ Place!

SUN has helped The Neighbors’ Place with various projects including a cookbook for Empty Bowls, informational graphics, golf outing signs, vehicle graphics, branding & stationery and more!
